Find Fossils and Rocks on A Budget

Do you enjoy the  outdoors, rock climbing, hiking? Why not add fossil hunting and rock hounding/collecting to your list of hobbies? It's easy and can be done almost anywhere. Driving down the road, see a nice road cut. STOP! You will be amazed at the interesting things you can find. Many areas in North Texas reveal fossils such as ammonites, brahiopods and echinods. The North Sulfur River, just north of Ladonia Texas has Mossasaur and fish and turtle fossils, even Mammonth bones have been collected there. Post Oak creek in Sherman Texas is full of sharks teeth. There  are rare tektites in the Brenham area. There is so much to explore and find in this great country.

back again

Sorry been away for a long time, have been experiencing lots of difficulties in 2009, My husband had a Heart attack on 5/7/09 and thank goodness survived, which is quite a miracle, considering he was home alone, had just climbed on top of our two story roof to fix the antenna; thank goodness didn't have the heart attack until he was back on solid ground. It was a 100 percent blockage in the main artery of his heart. He remained calm, called for help and called me and was gotten to the hospital in time to prevent death and even minimal damage to the heart. He is doing well now. Then in July I went into the hospital for an emergency illness. heart rate was 32 bpm, still going through a multitude of test to determine exact cause, but I'm doing ok. Lost my job whilst in the hospital however; and was out of work for 3 months. Got back to work mid October and financially trying to get back on our feet. My husband at worked construction all of his adult life and is now having trouble finding work. SO we are just hoping that 2010 is better for us than 09. How is everyone out there?

Thought of the day...when in doubt Re-dink it!
